376: [Formed.] Ian Simkins on The Cost of Surrender, Why Control and Clarity are Cousins, Embodied Trust, and A Necessary Theology of Suffering in Effective Formation

Podcast · February 7, 2024

This week is the final week of [Formed.], and this week, my good buddy, Ian Simkins is back. He’s one of my favorite people, and a deep well at that. Today, we’re talking about the cost of surrender, why control and clarity are cousins, embodied trust, and the necessary theology of suffering in relation to effective spiritual formation.

Guest Bio:

Ian is a writer and the Lead Pastor of Teaching and Vision at a wonderful church called The Bridge just outside of Nashville, TN. Of note, Ian is a great follow on Instagram. He writes regularly about spiritual formation, emotional health, and personal growth. Follow him @iansimkins.
