The Overwhelm is Real
I know there’s a good chance you might be feeling stuck or perhaps overwhelmed in a particular area of life right now. In fact, at some point along the way, you might have even thought, I can’t do this anymore, or worse, I don’t want to do this anymore. And if that’s the case, I hope you don’t interpret my words as being harsh when I tell you that I’m not surprised.
The State of Mental Health Today
- In the United States alone, forty million adults (those aged eighteen years and older) suffer from various anxiety disorders.
- A Pew Research study revealed that “at least four-in-ten U.S. adults (41%) have experienced high levels of psychological distress at least once since the early stages of the coronavirus outbreak.”
- The same study said that “a 58% majority of those ages 18 to 29 have experienced high levels of psychological distress at least once across four Center surveys conducted between March 2020 and September 2022.”
- The National Institutes of Health reports that “about 6 of every 10 men (or 60%) and 5 of every 10 women (or 50%) experience at least one trauma in their lives.”
Culture’s Answer?
Self-help.
Self-healing.
Self-medication.
Self-actualization.
Self-help is a Sham
We’ve created an idol out of Self. But that’s the problem because we can’t save, heal, or deliver ourselves by ourselves. It’s no wonder we’re still stuck in a tornadic spiral of shame, anxiety, depression, and an unrelenting addiction to psychotropic drugs just to get through the day. Someone has to call the bluff. And that’s why I’m here.
Transformation Beats Self-help
So, when it comes to helping people just like you design their roadmap to wholeness, what is the answer? The answer is transformation–the transformation of your spirit, soul, and body, from the inside out. But here’s the catch: transformation is not a flip-of-a-switch one-time event. It’s a daily commitment.
