A lot of people walk through life without ever turning the key on the unique purpose for which they were created. Beyond accomplishments, beyond a vocation, and even beyond this thing called a “calling,” who you are at the core of your being is rooted in identity. And discovering your identity, according to today’s guests, Cody Wilson and Dave Bauer, is a dynamic process that unfolds through relationship with God. These guys are no strangers to persevering through disappointment on their way to establishing deep roots of identity and purpose that are now helping multitudes of people every week.
Cody Wilson grew-up as the son of well-known co-founders of one of the largest churches in the Midwest. But it wasn’t long before he built his own accolades as the captain of the Central Michigan University football team where he was a decorated wide receiver and two-time academic All American. For two years following his college career, he played wide receiver for the Detroit Lions. Today, he’s a teaching pastor at Kensington Church in metro Detroit, where he speaks to thousands on a weekly basis.
Dave Bauer is a pioneer and thought-leader who leads hundreds of people through the process of transformation from brokenness and pain into the discovery of freedom and identity. As a writer and communicator, Dave’s approach to wholeness is shaping the lives of men and women all around the metro Detroit area, including mine.
In today’s conversation, you’re going to tap into the truth, maybe for the first time, about how to press past insecurity and obscurity in order to see who you were originally and uniquely created to be. You see, God calls you by name, my friend. But too often, we call ourselves by our circumstances and then live limited, not by the cap on our purpose, but by our own constrained thinking that keeps us from stepping into the fullness of who we were always created to be.
Mark Twain said, “The two most important days of your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why.”

What Listeners Are Saying…
“So great to find a podcast that is both encouraging and challenging! It is professionally produced, yet still has an informal feel like I’m hanging out with Chris… And frankly, I’d love to hang out with him! I really appreciate his heart and have been able to apply many of his topics in my life to help me grow professionally, physically, and relationally. A+!”
