405: Carlos Whittaker on Overcoming Dullness in Your Soul, Learning How to Let Go of False Responsibilities, What Going Screen-Free for 7 Weeks Did to His Brain, Wrestling with God, and the Fight Against Hypochondria

Podcast · September 11, 2024

I’m so glad to have Carlos Whittaker with us this week. A lot of people are languishing in their souls these days. Between the state of the economy, strain in relationships, lack of trust in leaders, and the landscape of our political scene, I’ve heard it said by many, “I just feel flat.” Today, we’re talking about overcoming dullness in our souls and how to let go of false responsibilities. We’re also going to unpack Carlos’s 7-week experiment of going completely screen-free, and, what the brain scans revealed both before and after the seven weeks.

Guest Bio

Carlos Whittaker is bringing hope to humans all over the world. And he’s pretty good at it: he’s an author, podcaster, and global speaker backed by the power of a massive Instafamilia, his enthusiastic social followers who tune in daily to join forces with Carlos to find connection, do good, and be in community. When Carlos enters a room, he makes people feel seen. His superpower is creating spaces—online and in-person—where people are safe to engage in conversation about the topics that matter most but are often avoided. His motto: don’t stand on issues, walk with people. That’s the professional stuff—but all day every day, Carlos is a family man. He and his wife Heather live in Nashville, Tennessee, with their three amazing children, where you can find them working on the family farm, planning trips around the world, and dancing to Single Ladies (seriously, Google it).
